Ethel Rosenberg - A Cold War Tragedy

rosenberg-cover.jpeg

In the spring of 1951, America was gripped by the trial for espionage of an obscure young Jewish couple, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, who were found guilty of spying for the Soviet Union and sentenced to death. This year a new biography of Ethel was published, written by former Reuters foreign correspondent Anne Sebba, who joins us to uncover the complex background to this extraordinary case. Read Sebba’s feature on the book in the summer 2021 issue of Jewish Renaissance.

This talk will be held with Jewish Renaissance, as part of their Autumn Book Club.
