If you enjoyed Rabbi Sybil Sheridan’s text-study series on Pirkei Imahot, why not try a taste of Azara learning this winter! Read the first chapter of Ezekiel together with Rabba Dr Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz, and see how the classical commentators interpret his vision.
Did Ezekiel See God? In the first chapter of Ezekiel, he sees many rich visions. How have Jews through the ages interpreted his experience, and what are we to make of it? We will be doing a close reading of the chapter together with classical commentators – no prior experience necessary!
Rabba Dr Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz studied archaeology at Cambridge and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and has recently completed her PhD at UCL, on the religious lives of Orthodox Jewish women. She teaches at the London School of Jewish Studies and teaches regularly in the community, as well as occasionally lecturing at Cambridge University and King’s College London. She edits books for the Littman Library of Jewish Civilization and has writtenarticles and book reviews for the Jewish Chronicle. Lindsey is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Programme.
